»DrehMomente« (torques) | Merit Fakler | VideoArt Exhibition Feb 02 – 16
„If one wants to know everything, one could also try to catch the wind.“ (Meister Eckhard)
The voluminous video installation by Merit Fakler explores the relation between – man – nature – technology and their connection to each other. This installation carries one away into visual worlds, captivating through their color composition and constant metamorphosis into visual journeys with extraordinary aesthetics and philosophical profoundness. Their constant transformation and complexity invites to bide awhile and contemplate.
Through changes of perspective, intense colouration and sophisticated collage effects the video artist stages parallel worlds – composed of wind turbines, schools of fish, lines of cars and runners. Merit Fakler stages her motives in an unusual way and composes multi-dimensional video paintings in a deliberately decelerated rhythm.
Wind turbines, timeless and stoic, cut their circles into the green, red, yellow sky and wave in an anthropocentric manner into the universe. Gigantic constructions of the 21st century – allegories of movement, repetition, time and infinity.
Opening : February 02 – Sat at 7pm
